Account Settings Gets a New Home

Today you might have noticed a slight change to the location of your Account Settings. Take a look at the top right of your Harvest account, and you’ll see Settings in its new home.

This change is twofold:

  1. Account Settings is now called Company Settings (don’t worry, it’s just a name change—all the functions are the same).
  2. Company Settings is now right in your top navigation menu. One click and you’re there!

Why the change? That’s a two-fer too.

First, this refreshed design is in preparation for future updates. Behind the scenes, our team is working hard to make Harvest better. Part of those improvements involve easier navigation, and this update is the first step.

Second, we’ve heard a lot of feedback that our Company Settings were hard to find. We’re not a fan of hiding features, and by pulling Settings into the main navigation, they’ll be both easier and quicker to access.

We think this change will be a nice tweak for a lot of Harvest admins (don’t fret, all you project managers and regular users—this change won’t affect you). Got any questions? Let us know at!

  • Just spun 6 years on Harvest, and have been searching for Settings at least part of that time, so… Great Job!
Also like that you are setting our expex for future changes, too!

  • Looks good to me folks – looking forward to the new changes coming out!

Looks good. Will the future changes include the ability to mark expenses as reimbursed? This is a feature we would really like to see please!

  • Any chance one of those changes include searching for invoices by order of “i.d.”?
Is it part of Harvest’s plans?

Kevin and Sam: Thanks! We’re excited to have this little part of our improvements starting to show–it’s just the tip of the iceberg. :)

Elaine: Reimbursable expenses is something we’ve got on our radar for the future. We’re not 100% sure it’s something we’ll get to soon, but it’s definitely been a hot topic.

Barry: Searching invoices by ID is also a feature we’ve got in mind for the long term!

  • I have been using Harvest for a few years. Love it. Except for not being able to search and sort by job number/ID. I have hundreds of job numbers a year and it really is odd for financial-tracking software to not allow search and sort by ID. Please offer that soon!

I actually need to to continue to use iBiz (discontinued) by Igg software along side Harvest for the sorting and searching functions to keep track of projects and see a higher overview of all active work. Sorting by client alone in Harvest is very limiting.

    Thank you

Ed: Thanks for the love! Are you trying to search your projects by project code? If so, you can do that! Just look for the search bar in the top right of your Projects page. In that search bar, just start typing your project code and we’ll return any project that matches.

If you’re looking to search invoices by project code, that’s a bit more difficult for us to do. It’s something we’re thinking about, but there’re a lot of behind-the-scenes updates we’d like to make first. It’s not out of the question, but it likely won’t happen very soon. I’m sorry about that!
